What made #Google the titan it is today is that it gives it's employees the freedom and resources to explore and R&D what ever intrigues them. Who knows what future innovations and blockbuster products will come out of these efforts.

#Google doesn't have a lot of drivers to get itself out of the range it is in, although over time if their earnings grow they will move up on value versus their peers. I think changing their name to Alphabet was a dumb move although hopefully over time the founders will lose more control over Google and the money losing playground will disappear which will be good for shareholders. I'd buy Google if all it did was search, their phone technology, and android.
It is hard monetizing this, however with dropping active users is going to make it even harder. Sadly #Google and #Facebook will make it hard for any major new Internet media to generate ad revenue. Be careful picking start ups in this space. $TWTR $FB $GOOGL

Personally, I don't see the rationale of #Blackberry getting into the self-driving car market. Especially when companies like #Google and #Apple are aggressively pursuing it, I don't see how Blackberry could pull ahead. $BBRY $GOOGL$AAPL
I use #Alexa often. It can't answer nearly as many questions as #Siri, but can have "skills" added, app-like programs to do everything from play games to control your smart home. $AMZN$AAPL
I've never used #GoogleAssist and hadn't realized #Google was getting into this space but could see them being formidable. But I've never had #Cortana successfully answer anything I've ever asked it. All it does is direct me to a web search. No idea what #Microsoft is trying to accomplish with that but I would place them dead last. $GOOGL$MSFT

I believe people do not want them and will not want them when they realize that they are flawed technology and will always be flawed technology. They will not work at high speeds, with cones in the roads, with deciding whether to go through yellow, as is allowed in Nevada but not other states, etc. I think self driving cars are a bit of a con, and that #ElonMusk is a carnival barker. As far as #Google is concerned, they will not be self driving, but likely tied to a centralized computer. Hack that and you cause a million accidents. I don't think America will buy it. #selfdrivingcars
