The 7 AI categories we track went up marginally (1.0%, on average) the second week of May, after having gone down 0.4% the previous week.

The 9 QC stocks were up 1.4% last week, on average, but down 9.4% during the month of April are now down 1.6% YTD.

In recent articles I suggested that the AI sector was weakening and that was clearly evident in April when the 54 stocks in the 7 AI category portfolios tracked went down by 4.3%, on average.

Since all 54 constituents in the 7 AI category portfolios we track declined in price last week, it is no surprise that such weakness is reflected in the Small Cap AI Stocks Portfolio as well.

Six of the 7 categories we cover dropped this week, compared with 3 in March. The data clearly indicates that the surge in this sector is stalling or perhaps is even over.
