There has been a lot of news lately about CBD and its many health benefits. New evidence has proven that this compound, found in cannabis, can be helpful when treating all sorts of conditions like chronic pain, epilepsy, migraines, anxiety, and so much more. Here are a few of the less well-known conditions that can also be treated through the use of CBD.
Acne
CBD can be used as an effective treatment for acne. One study published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation and the National Institute of Health found this to be true. The researchers studied the effect of cannabis-derived CBD on sebaceous glands. They concluded that CBD inhibited lipid synthesis, making it an effective sebostatic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-acne treatment.
Fibromyalgia
Currently, fibromyalgia is often treated with anti-inflammatory medications, corticosteroids, and opioid pain medication. A 2011 study, however, found promising results for using CBD as a remedy for the condition. During the research study, half of the group used CBD to treat their condition and the other half used regular methods. Over the course of the study, those who used cannabidiol saw a reduction in their pain and symptoms whereas the other group did not see much improvement.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
CBD produces a relaxing, anti-anxiety, and anti-inflammatory effect that those with PTSD may benefit from. The disorder is known to cause a lot of anxiety and stress. Many patients find relief by using Plus CBD oil.
Cigarette Addiction
Cannabidiol may also be useful when trying to combat cigarette addiction. In one study, 24 smokers were chosen at random to receive an inhaler of CBD oil or a placebo. The research participants were then asked to take a puff every time they felt the urge to smoke a cigarette. Over the course of a week, those with the placebo noticed no difference in the total number of cigarettes they smoked. Those who used CBD, however, noticed a 40 percent decrease in their cigarette intake. This shows that CBD may be able to help curb nicotine and cigarette addiction.
Multiple Sclerosis
Another recent study noted that Plus CBD oil may have the potential to limit certain symptoms and aspects of multiple sclerosis. Researchers at Cajal Institute utilized cell cultures and animal models to test this. They discovered the CBD reversed inflammatory responses and protected against the effects of MS. Mice who received 10 days of CBD treatment showcased better motor skills and improvement in their conditions, too.
