I think it's ironic how, it order to get away with not even owning a tie in the business world, one need to be incredibly successful. Steve Jobs was able to wear the same black turtle neck all the time, Mark Zuckerberg can get away with wearing a hoodie every day, but I'd get fired if I did either.
Excellent article. Though I would say that cheaper overseas labor would have ultimately killed the US based textile industry regardless of whether unionizing won out. Granted, it likely hastened the demise, but better the American worked should get a fair deal. Work conditions and benefits still trail behind Europe
This is a real dilemma which I agree most countries seem unwilling to face. Before anything can be done, we have to acknowledge that there is a war going on, and it's not being waged by a handful of extremists either. We need to wake up and defend ourselves before it is too late.
