Apple Makes A Move

Interesting article @[Quad 7 Capital](user:61213), but I wonder... How much of this is #Apple trying to leverage its superior technology to really make their products shine? As opposed to simply being another way to force users to upgrade to their latest gadgets. If everyone using older devices suddenly have all their apps stop working, and the only way to get them to work is to upgrade, well then that reeks of desperation to me and could end up being the straw that finally breaks the famed loyalty of its users. $AAPL

How Wrong Was I on Bitcoin?
Michele Grant 2/18/2018 1:55:19 PM

I think even you sound depressed in this video. Maybe it's time to admit #bitcoin is not all that some claimed it to be. Personally I was more supportive of your #Apple coverage. Do you still believe in $AAPL?

What #Apple should have done is find ways to make their new devices stand out. Differentiate them enough to entice people to upgrade. I think the company is losing it's innovative edge. Bearish on $AAPL

Sorry @[Abe Jouejati](user:32712), but you are buying into Apple's excuses. I and countless others had older iPad devices that worked JUST FINE until they forced them to process slower to produce a negative lag. There was no benefit for this - my battery life and processing speed was superb. The real reason for this was #Apple's slowing sales for it's devices. By crippling their older devices, they are increasing demand for new products. $AAPL

As an #iPhone user I do not like the forced updates. However, this is part and parcel of #Apple's business model. It is a dynamic innovator in a cutting-edge industry where technologies are always emerging and improving. Apple has to be able to keep up and also to keep its existing users up-to-date with new trends. $AAPL

I've read that there was a lot of bad blood between #Tesla and #Apple.

What Happened To The Iphone?

#Apple is proving itself to be little competition in the field of ingenuity as of its most previous models. However, it's still going to sell well due to its brand. Many consumers are more concerned with brands. Clout reigns over functionality these days.

I agree, there's nothing to get excited about anymore. So it's a tad faster or a tad thinner. Who cares? It's not worth shelling out another $300 to $700. They gotta wait for the next meaningful technological enhancement to get people to bite.

Better yet, #Apple should be looking for something else that needs to be redesigned.

This is true, but as you said, that is where #Apple excels and will continue to do so. The problem is that it's difficult to get excited about new phones or tablets when old ones still work so well (despite Apples attempts at intentionally slowing down older models to spur new purchases).

If history is any judge, when the time comes, Apple will identify the next "big thing," make it better, and make a killing. $AAPL will go then go even higher.

#Apple has excelled at identifying the next big thing and making it better. It did it with computers, MP3 players, tablets, and phones. It never invents a thing. I think they've run out of ideas. $AAPL

Sounds like an interesting product. But can you elaborate on how this differentiates from the advancements in voice recognition that companies like #Google, #Amazon and #Apple are making? Hard to see how you can compete with them. $GOOGL $AMZN $AAPL

What Makes Amazon, Apple, Facebook and Google So Special

There is something magical about #Apple, #Amazon, #Facebook and #Google. Did the author provide any insight into any other companies? $AAPL $AMZN $FB $GOOGL

What Makes Amazon, Apple, Facebook and Google So Special
Ayelet Wolf 1/16/2018 12:58:13 PM

Sounds like an interesting read. But it doesn't sound like it answers the deeper questions. For example, I agree that #Apple creates a form of lust in it's loyal customers, to, as you said, "driving them to pay irrational prices when there are essentially identical products available from competitors at far lower prices." But HOW has Apple achieved this? Yes, #Amazon has built itself up from an upstart book seller, to essentially being able to provide for every aspect of our lives. but HOW did they manage to achieve this? Every other book seller is now either still just selling books, or out of business all together. $AAPL $AMZN $FB $GOOGL

Why Is Apple In Talks With Sharp For OLED Displays When It Will Likely Be Buying From Samsung?
Barry Hochhauser 1/16/2018 11:52:31 AM

Where does #Apple get all of it's batteries from? With its recent announcement that it will replace batteries at a discount, and that this will speed up older devices, I assume there will be a major increase in demand.

The Market Before Christmas
Angry Old Lady 12/26/2017 9:00:35 AM

Cute title, I enjoyed the pun. How do I find more about the class action law suit suiting #Apple? It's clearly an excuse to push people to buyer newer models since old models are can still be purchased brand new, with a perfectly good battery. $AAPL
