My Swing Trading Approach

New day, new month, I'll be looking to add 1-2 new trades to the long side today, while also moving up the stops in my existing positions. 

Indicators

VIX - Declined 3% down to 10.18. The bears haven't been as aggressive in driving this backdown. 

T2108 (% of stocks trading below their 40-day moving average): Bounced back up to 57% yesterday. Much needed, but still weaker than it should be in a strong bull market. 

Moving averages (SPX): Holding all the major moving averages. 

Industries to Watch Today

Technology + Energy are very hot. I have been steering away from Industrials as there is much more weakness in that sector right now.

My Market Sentiment

The first trading day of the month tends to perform well of late. FOMC later today, but should be a non-event.
