Sputter, Sputter, Stall

I guess the old saw about the importance of avoiding politics and religion has a lot of truth to it. Back in the days of our prior Fed chief, when I’d refer to him as “Benjamin Shalom Bernanke”, some guys would get their panties in a wad, even though Shalom really was his middle name. And this morning, after I sent out this tweet…..

0120-tweet

….a couple of folks got worked up that I dare question the temperament of our new leader. So, on the whole, I guess I’ll try to stick to charts (although I’m highly confident the above tweet will be borne out as prescient).

Looking at the ES on an intraday basis the past couple of months, it’s interesting how things haven’t just calmed down………….they’ve just about deceased altogether. The tints pretty much for speak for themselves:

0120-es

It seems that soon the ES will simply lock in at the level of 2265 and stay there until the end of time. I guess at that point we can all go home and devote our lives to other things.

In spite of me pointing out how blase the market has become, I’ve actually been adding to my positions, and I’m more aggressively positioned now than I’ve been in months. This is partly out of the quality of the short setups, and partly out of the fact I think a new era is upon us politically.
