The average small cap score is 49.53. That's below the four week average score of 49.73. The average small cap stock in our universe is trading -32% below its 52 week high, 1.71% above its 200 dma, and has 8.63 days to cover held short.

Consumer goods, utilities, industrial goods, and basics score above average. Financials and technology score in line with the average score. Services and healthcare score below average.

Processed & packaged goods (BDBD) score best in small cap. Auto parts (SRI, MTOR), business software (CSGS, PRFT, TSYS), steel & iron (ZEUS, AKS, SCHN), and heavy construction (AEGN) also score high.

Steel & iron, gold (SA), and oil & gas drillers (PKD) are top scoring in basics. The best consumer baskets are processed & packaged goods, auto parts, and home furnishings (SCSS). In financials, concentrate on S&Ls (NWBI, FBC, OCFC). The best healthcare groups are specialized health services (BEAT, AHS), medical instruments (IART, LMAT, MMSI, CMN, LMNX), and home healthcare (AMED, BIOS).
