Emerging Markets Vs. Developed Markets

In this video, we discuss the differences and developments between EM [Emerging Markets] and DM [Developed Markets]. The video walks through a couple of slides of a recent edition of the Weekly Macro Themes report. The first chart shows the differences between EM and DM and helps define them on the basis of income and governance, and provides a rationale for differentiating between the two groups. We also look at how EM has grown to become the dominant share of global GDP and the implications of this for global growth, geopolitics, and the cyclical outlook. These are topics of great interest to asset allocators who are exposed to EM and DM and actively think about these economic/market groupings and the global economy.
