Monday: The Chicago Fed’s National Activity Index will be released in the U.S.

Tuesday: Purchasing Mangers’ Indices will be released globally, namely the Nikkei PMI in Japan and the Markit PMI for the Eurozone and the U.S., the latter with expectations of a small deterioration to 52.7 points. The Eurozone will also see the release of the advance Consumer Confidence Index. July’s New Home Sales data will be released in the U.S.

Wednesday: The weekly MBA Mortgage Applications will see light in the U.S., as will July’s Existing Home Sales data, with analysts expecting some deterioration to 5.51M.

Thursday: August Germany IFO Survey will be released, with a small recovery expected by analysts. July’s preliminary Durable Goods Orders data will see light in the U.S., as will the weekly Initial Jobless Claims. After scoring a fairly moderate 262K jobs last week, analysts expect a small uptick, to 265K.

Friday: Consumer Price Index data are due in Japan, currently a 0.4% deflation. In France, the preliminary estimate for the second quarter’s GDP data will be released, as will August’s Consumer Confidence Index data. Preliminary Q2 GDP data are also due in the U.K., as well as the U.K., with some moderation expected at the latter, to 1.1% Quarter over Quarter growth. The U.S. will also see the release of preliminary July Wholesale Inventories data, as well as the final estimate for August’s Consumer Sentiment Index. Fed Chair Yellen is also scheduled to speak at the Fed’s monetary policy symposium in Jackson Hole.
