Economic Events Of The Coming Week - 7/25/2016

Weekly Events

Monday: Trade Balance data are due in Japan. In Germany, July’s IFO Survey will see light.

Tuesday: July’s Consumer Confidence Index data will be released in the U.S., as well as June’s New Home Sales data. The latter has analysts pretty optimistic at 560K units. Earnings are due by Apple (AAPL) and Twitter (TWTR).

Wednesday: July’s Consumer Confidence Index data will be released in France and Italy. In Spain, June’s Retail Sales data will see light. M3 Money supply data for the Eurozone in June will also be released, where analysts expect an annual increase of 5%. Advance Q2 GDP data will see light in the U.K.  In the U.S., the weekly MBA Mortgage Applications will see light, as well as preliminary data on Durable Goods Orders in June. The Fed is also scheduled to make a rate announcement, though the market attributes about 8% to a hike this time. Facebook will announce the second quarter’s earnings

Thursday: July’s Nationwide House Price data will be released in the U.K. – some ‘ouch’ is due. Unemployment rate data will be released both in Spain, as well as in Germany. It will be followed by a preliminary estimate of the Consumer Price Index in Germany, where analysts see annual inflation stable at 0.3%. The weekly Initial Jobless Claims data will also see light in the U.S. Alphabet (GOOG) and Amazon (AMZN) will announce the second quarter’s earnings.

Friday: June’s Jobless Rate data will be released in Japan, as will the month’s CPI data and the preliminary estimate for Industrial Production. In France, the advance estimate of GDP in Q2 will see light, as will CPI data. A preliminary estimate for Consumer Prices will also be released in Spain, currently at a 0.5% annual deflation.  June Mortgage Approvals data will be released in the U.K. In the Eurozone, as well as the U.S. Advance Q2 GDP data will see light. The U.S. will also host the release of July’s Chicago PMI, as well as the final estimate for the University of Michigan’s Consumer Sentiment Index.
