Aggressive Growth Stocks For Thanksgiving

Video Length: 00:05:01

In a week that is set aside for Thanksgiving and food celebration, our Aggressive Growth Stock Strategist Brian Bolan has the wind knocked out of his sails. This is normally the time of year that we would be graced with the bright red jacket that he has become (in)famous; it is after all Michigan Week for his Ohio State Buckeyes. But with Michigan State beating the Buckeyes, Brian is clearly a little off his game.

Normally he and Terry Ruffolo will discuss two stocks that are Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) stocks, but today he is looking at two food names and one is a Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell). The first stock they churn over is Dean Foods (DF - Analyst Report), which is a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy). Brian noted the solid style scores and earnings history as well as the stock having an attractive valuation.

The next stock is Pilgrim’s Pride (PPC - Analyst Report), which is focused on chicken. Brian discussed the recent earnings miss and the subsequent lowering of estimates. Those two factors were critical in the stock becoming a Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell), and Brian Bolan reviews that in detail.

Brian noted to Terry that he would have covered Butterball, but that is a private company and therefore there are no earnings estimates so there cannot be a Zacks Rank for that company.

Dead Foods? Was that ironic? I do tend to prefer to buy my meat dead.

LOL - sorry, no, it was author's typo for Dean Foods; we fixed but you were very quick to catch it!
