It took a long time, but the wait paid off! Thank you all so much for your patience in waiting for my 2015 TEDx Talk in Jersey City. Steering society with the help of the stock market is not a new concept, but in an age where money dominates the world, it is important to see investing as an instrument for change. There are two powerful ways to accomplish this…and neither way requires having a personal banker or a finance degree. One is through direct control of your own retirement and brokerage accounts in order to support companies that engage in proper, sustainable business practices. The other is indirect, in that you use your own passion and expertise to petition the power of activist investors to change the way business is conducted at a corporate level. We can all change the world through these simple changes, and millions more are engaging the market through socially responsible investing. Trickle down economics may leave us with only a few drops, but that is all that is needed to start a tidal wave of meaningful change.
