Impact Silver Corp. – An Up And Coming Silver Stock

TM editors' note: This article discusses a penny stock and/or microcap. Such stocks are easily manipulated; do your own careful due diligence.

Back when I first started investing in the precious metals sector, my focus was on the very high-risk explorer companies. As I learned very quickly, with that high risk got me a few winners but more than my fair share of losers. And when you lose on explorer stocks, you lose big. Taking a less risky approach, I focused on the producers with multiple mines with a solid exploration program. Those companies had a lot less volatility and tracked the value of the underlying metal(s) more closely.

Now in the silver sector, you have your best of breed stocks, who have solid production, solid exploration programs, good trading volume, and track the price of silver closely. Then you have stocks who are the up and comers who are more thinly traded and don’t always track the movements in the price of silver. Impact Silver (ISVLF : OTCBB, IPT: TSXV) is one of those up and coming stocks. After hitting a 52 week high in early August 2016, the stock lost half of its value by the end of the month. Then came the tax loss season in November and the stock ended the year at $0.46 US, less than half of what it was back in early August.

Impact Silver currently owns and operates three producing silver mines in Mexico: San Ramon, Mirasol, and Cuchara. They also plan on starting production on their San Patricio project this quarter. They also have a solid exploration program.

Impact Silver’s market cap is about $50M US as of the date of this article. Between the OTCBB and the TSX Venture Exchange, the stock trades about 175,000 shares per day. With the price of silver having a strong start to 2017, Impact Silver may be one of the companies you may want to check out for your portfolio.
