Dividend Income Update May 2017

Each month I will publish my dividend income. I will mainly do this for staying self motivated and to give you the readers the chance to follow my journey from the beginning on. The dividend income in the first couple of years will be on a very low level but investing in dividend stocks is all about the long term. I am very sure that in 5 years from now I will get my first rewards for the patience and focus on my goals.

Again time for another dividend income update. It is always one of my favorite posts at the beginning of each month, to review my last months’ dividend income. Thanks to my two german and one austrian stocks May was another record month, actually my third in a row. In total I received 163.76 EUR in dividends.

My total dividend income in May was 167.76 EUR that is an increase of 31.2% compared to May 2016. That increase does mainly come from my additional investment Abbvie, IB Anbev, CVS and General Mills, changes in the exchange rate, dividend increases and one new company in my portfolio.

Conclusion

My average monthly dividend income in 2016 was at  58.86 EUR and currently it is at 104.76 EUR.

My projected full year dividend income is now at  1 323.02 EUR that means I have now an average of 110.25 EUR per month. So I reached my first goal to cross the average monthly dividend income of 100 EUR. To finally cross that number feels amazing as it is another step towards financial freedom. My goal until the end of the year is to have a total dividend income of 1 400 EUR. Nevertheless it is a bit less than in April even though I have invested in Uniqa this month. The main reason for it was that the USD lost a little value compared to the EUR so, well I am suffering a little bit but it is still no reason to panic.

Last but not least it might happen that I will cross the 200 EUR in June. Reaching that number already would be really amazing, but let’s see if it’s gonna happen.
