Packaged Goods & The Dollar

The general market perception is consumers have turned away from Branded packaged goods. Brand names have stood the test of time and are the trusted products overseas. We have had previous periods when the consensus mistook a shift in US$ for abandonment of global Brands. The most recent example was the surge in US$ in 2000. The Packaged goods story is more a US$ story impacting pricing, exports and FX translation. It will turn in time to favor long-term investors.
