No changes in the latest OpinionWay poll. En Marche candidate Emmanuel Macron leads Front Nationale Marine Le Pen with 61% against 39%.
EUR/USD remains on high ground.
It isn’t over until it is fully over. The first round is behind us and the countdown to the second round continues.
EUR/USD is not only holding its ground well above Friday’s close but also moving forward. The pair is trading just under 1.09, ticking closer to the 1.0905 level of resistance. Support awaits at 1.0870 and 1.0830.
Yesterday’s Opinionway poll showed Macron leading with 61% against 39% for Le Pen. This was down from 64% before the first round of the elections.
The poll from IFOP showed Macron with 60% and the Elabe poll had him at 64%.
While the centrist candidate continues enjoying a significant advantage, this does not guarantee a victory. Some voters may be complacent and stay at home. Le Pen could garner votes from the extreme left and not only from her extreme right base.
