Even Less Growth Next Year For China?

China

This year will not go down in history as the golden year of the Chinese economy; that much is certain. To the contrary even, the Chinese economy has hit a very rough patch and the question is whether the Chinese economy can recover from here.

Analysts are not positive about the Chinese economy at all at the moment. This year we have had growth of 7.5 percent in China, but next year this could drop back even further to 7 percent.

For the first time since 1999, China will not meet its growth target and that is hurting the country’s image of course. The annual growth figure is at its lowest point in practically 24 years. Needless to say, the Chinese government will want to change a lot of that.

The Stock Market In China Offers Hope

The government in China has taken action by lowering interest rates already. Of course, this decision created a lot of excitement on the stock market and despite the disappointing economy, China’s stock market has been shining bright this year.

The Shanghai index has gone up by around 50 percent over the last few months and, for investors, this is great news. The expectations for next year are also high. If the Chinese government can keep its act together, the stock market should have another great year.
