Here are the top events to look out for today.

1:45 PM GMT US Services PMI
Look into American services sector

“At 1:45 PM GMT, we get the American Services PMI numbers coming out, which could give us an idea as to how the service sector in America is performing. A number above the expected 51.2 would be good for stocks in America, while a number lower than that would be negative.”

2:00 PM GMT CB Consumer Confidence
American consumer in the spotlight

“At 2 PM GMT, we will get the CB Consumer Confidence numbers coming out of the United States, expected to be 99. A number above that should also be good for stocks in America, as it would show a strengthening consumer base. On the other hand, a number lower than that could be negative for US indices.”

International Energy Forum
OPEC member informal talks

“OPEC members are meeting in Algiers during the IEF, and the informal meeting could possibly give the world headlines to think about when it comes to the crude oil markets. With the glut that we have seen globally, OPEC may try to decrease output.”
