Innovative New Site Features & A Major Announcement

New Site Features

You may have noticed that over the last month, we've quietly rolled out some major new social features. We've integrated social tagging to the site so users can tag each other in posts and use cashtags for specific stocks. We've also launched the ability to connect with other users. Most contributor-based sites offer only a one-way connection: the ability to be a fan or follow another user. Social sites prefer a mutual two-way connection (think Facebook or LinkedIn). But these are two very distinct relationships with their own unique set of related functionality and value. We've offered the ability to follow others since our inception. But now we offer the ability to connect to other users as well.

These are independent features - any user can follow any other user or contributor and be a fan - they see your articles, tweets, comments and blog posts, but you would not see theirs unless you choose to follow them in return. Connection requests by contrast, have to be accepted by the other party and are a good way to connect with friends, colleagues and those you trust. You can connect with other contributors without having to incorporate their articles into your feeds if you don't want to. And of course, you can choose how much or how little of your site activity to share with others. You can make your stock interests and contact info private, public, or visible only to your followers and/or contacts. We will be building out this functionality further in the coming months.

I've sent you a connection request, I hope you choose to accept it, and that you reach out to others to connect with them as well.
